Reflection
Experience
Along the 14 weeks that I learnt Illustration & Visual Narrative, I was able to learn a lot of things. Some of them being, the ability to create interesting characters with different fixed shapes, create interesting minimalistic posters, but also animate them, and create a webtoon, all which I have never done before. It was a mind opening experience, and I wouldn’t exchange what I had learnt in the past few weeks for anything else. It was a great way for me to be able to learn the mechanics of Illustrator, Photoshop as well as After Effects as I do not think I have indulged in learning and trying out new things as much as I have in this class.
Observations
Throughout this class, I was made to observe more stories. Something that was taught in this class is composition, and now it is something I actively look out for whenever I watch anything, whether it be movies or tv shows, or even YouTube videos. I used to never do this, but being taught this allowed me to open my eyes more. It also has influenced how I take pictures, as I now know how to make the composition look the best it can be. I am extremely grateful for this class as it's not only useful for actual design, but just for daily occurrences that we face everyday.
Findings
With this class, I actually found out more things about the Adobe programs! Both Ms Anis and Ms Jennifer provided a tremendous amount of knowledge to us, encouraging us to further our knowledge and try out different ways of laying out our composition, adding things to make our characters more interesting, and more! I also was able to learn different things that I would’ve never learned if I hadn't been given the chance to take this class. Overall, I’m satisfied with the learning experience of this class as I was able to find so many thins, whether it be big or small, every detail matters in the final composition.
