INSTRUCTIONS

Exercise 01

For our first exercise, we were tasked to record our voices and sync it with a video that was provided by Mr Martin.

To make life easier for me, when recording, I had my script and the video pulled up at the same time, in order for me to understand when the character's mouth move and when sound was needed. For me, I used my phone as advised by Mr Martin.

Then, I used Adobe Premier Pro to compile the sounds [voice & ambience] together with the video.

Exercise 02

For this exercise, we were tasked to edit an audio clip to where it has a certain effect to it. Below is the original clip:

Then, I followed Mr Martin's instructions on how to edit the audio in Adobe Audition.

Exercise 03

For our final exercise, we were instructed to edit audio again. However, this time it was different! We were instructed to use Adobe Audition to magnify an explosion audio, layer triple punches and manipulate a voice into a monster's voice. We were provided the clips on Google Drive:

Then, I went to Adobe Audition to edit.

For Exercise 01, Mr Martin told me that my audio is well synced.

REFLECTION

Overall, I was quite amazed by this project! I always wondered how sound could be so interesting and enjoyable to listen when watching movies or show. Now, I know! Personally, I had lots of fun, especially with Exercise 01. Initially, the timing was a bit hard to get right, but I enjoyed the process a lot. Not only that, but I believe that I will be able to use the knowledge I have gained from this project in future works.

To some, they might think audio doesn't play a big part in the experience. However, I think they are wrong, as I believe that sound is just as important as visuals. If sound wasn't there to support the visuals, it would just fall flat. This exercise has further proved my point, and I am eager to see what my found-knowledge will bring to my future projects.
